This morning will be a little different and we will have a variety of things to help us join together to worship, learn and pray.
We are starting off at 10:30 with some worship lead by Liam Bunce and his family. You can access this on our YouTube page by following the link here. Please feel free to make comments on the YouTube page where Liam has put lyrics too.
The videos are also here if you don't want to comment - just praise and worship. Please play them in this order:
Here are some songs to sing-along with:
How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of Heaven’s Armies. I long, yes, I faint with longing to enter the courts of the Lord. With my whole being, body and soul, I will shout joyfully to the living God. Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow builds her nest and raises her young at a place near your altar, O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, my King and my God! What joy for those who can live in your house, always singing your praises.
What joy for those whose strength comes from the Lord, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. When they walk through the Valley of Weeping, it will become a place of refreshing springs. The autumn rains will clothe it with blessings. They will continue to grow stronger, and each of them will appear before God in Jerusalem. O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies, hear my prayer. Listen, O God of Jacob.
O God, look with favour upon the king, our shield! Show favour to the one you have anointed. A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked. For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.
O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, what joy for those who trust in you
This is just an awesome Psalm of encouragement, truth and joy. We may not be allowed to gather together physically today, we may not be allowed in each other's homes during the week. However, we are most definitely allowed to enter the courts, the presence, of our awesome and wonderful God!
How amazing that without leaving our home we can enter the house of God, coming in with worship, praise, thanks and petition. How brilliant that we are allowed to dwell there, not having to rush away but able to enjoy the presence of our Heavenly Father. How fantastic that in this place we can know peace, hope, joy and strength. How beautiful that we are able to be refreshed and clothed with blessing.
Although we can’t be together physically today, we can still enter the courts, the presence of our loving God and together shout joyfully to the living God.
For our Prime Minister and his advisers as they guide the nation through this current situation.
For our Medical Staff and carers that they would remain safe and able to work well under the incredicble stresses and strains that this pandemic has brought upon them.
For our communities around us that they follow the Government's advice and maintain social distancing, keep safe and keep healthy.
For our Social Workers and Teachers, many of whom are still working and having to keep in touch with all in their care. Pray for strength, sleep and protection for them and their families.
For our friends and families that are at home together - pray for peace, mental capacity to cope with everyone being at home, a growth of relationships and deep bonding and they eat, learn and play together.
Finally, pray for our Ark Church community, including all those that we serve and support. Pray that our relationships are maintained and strengthened and that we would have an impact on the communities around us in these difficult times.
